Experience the taste of Amsterdam
Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal is open on the new Stadionplein. It is a place where people can meet and experience the taste of Amsterdam: locals, tourists, commuters and foodies. Feast your senses in a 1.800 m2 area spread across two floors. Start your day with an espresso at the breakfast bar, marvel at what the tasting tables have to offer, have a seat at the seafood bar or discover the World of Beers. In short, enjoy all the flavours our nation’s capital has to offer and experience new adventures. One thing is certain, with the opening of Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal , Stadionplein will never be the same.
What does Amsterdam taste like?
The ground floor will introduce you to the many flavours Amsterdam has to offer: From traditional Amsterdam dishes to the international delicacies that found their way to our nation’s capital over the centuries. Whether you are sitting down for a meal in our restaurant, at our seafood bar or at one of the tasting tables, you will enjoy our chefs’ creations made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Sounds good, right? There is also a lovely terrace—several in fact—beautifully located on the completely renovated Stadionplein.
But there is more. Join us for a quick tour of the second floor. This is where we take our guests on a journey through Amsterdam’s rich history. Here, we have more than enough room to accommodate large groups. Explore the culinary history of our nation’s capital with a Food Experience film that will stimulate all your senses. Discover our world of beers or be delighted by exceptional wines paired with tasty appetisers in our World of Wines. See, experience, taste and interact until you’re ready to leave with new-found impressions and inspirations.
Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal will be friendlier than ever before. We want you to feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. That is why we invite you to take part, taste and experience. And why we organise workshops and lectures. We are even creating a live radio show covering a range of topics about Amsterdam. Anything from food to sports, after all, the Olympic Stadium is just a stone’s throw away.
A new generation of hospitality talent
Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal is part of the House of Hospitality, apartnership between businesses, educational institutions and the municipality of Amsterdam aimed at making visitors feel more welcome. This starts with training a new generation of hospitality talents: students with a passion for hospitality and service. That is why we are working together with ROC Amsterdam. Starting in March, the first 35 ROC students studying to become chefs or waiters will receive in-house training at our location, five days a week.
Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal will be open seven days a week from 07.00 – 00.00 hours.
